Boys and Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester Welcomes Three New Board Members

Mount Kisco, NY (September 2, 2008) – Robert J. Levine (of Millwood), Michael B. Wolfensohn (of Chappaqua) and A. Steve Alvarado, Jr. (of Bedford Hills) have been selected to join the Board of Directors of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester. The appointments were announced by Brian Skanes, Executive Director, Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester.

Robert J. Levine, Esq. is a Partner in the Transactional Department of the law firm of Cuddy & Feder LLP in White Plains. His practice focuses on the areas of commercial real estate and corporate law. He is a past board member of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of the Hudson Valley and the UJA-Federation of New York's Westchester Business & Professional Leaders Division. Mr. Levine is admitted to practice in the states of New York, Connecticut and Florida, as well as before the United States District Courts for the Southern and Eastern Districts of New York and the District of Connecticut. He is a graduate of Brooklyn Law School and received his B.A. in Political Science from the State University of New York at Albany. Mr. Levine resides in Millwood with his wife, Lisa, and their two children, Jordan and Scott.

Michael B. Wolfensohn is the Assistant Branch Manager of Commerce Bank in Mt. Kisco. Previously, he ran Wolfensohn Consulting, where he worked with numerous firms in upper management positions including ClearBid, Oscar Gruss & Son, Tradeworx, and Instapro. Mr. Wolfensohn is the author of A Cigar Journal. He is a Councilman for the Town of New Castle, Deputy Chief of the New Castle Community Emergency Response Team, and a member of the Downtown Hamlet Plan Steering Committee (New Castle). Mr. Wolfensohn is Board President of the Steel Beams Foundation, board member of the Lower East Side Printshop, board advisor to Westchester Disabled on the Move, and former board member of Dieu Donne Papermill. He received his B.A. in Politics and American History from Curry College. Mr. Wolfensohn resides in Chappaqua with his wife, Priscilla, and their three children, Leo, Lily, and Ben.

A. Steve Alvarado, Jr. is the Chief Operating Officer of Xcelend Funding Group, Inc. in the Bronx, a residential and commercial mortgage specialist. Prior to his current position, Mr. Alvarado was President of First Estate Funding Corporation. He is a board member of Amanzi Tea Company and Founder/Managing Director of the First Estate Funding Corporation Youth Foundation. Mr. Alvarado participates in multiple basketball leagues throughout the New York area and coaches children in basketball and baseball. He received his B.A. in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania. Mr. Alvarado resides in Bedford Hills with his wife, Patty, and their three children, Jordan Anthony, Alexander Steve, and Tyler Rey.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester (www.bgcnw.com) was established in 1939 as a place for "boys to get off the streets." It is a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring and enabling young people, especially those who need it most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible, and caring citizens. The main unit in Mt. Kisco, NY is a 36,000-square-foot facility featuring an eight-lane pool, Child Care Center, gymnasium, games room, two computer labs and an additional 1,600-foot Teen Center facility. The Club has two satellite programs: a youth and teen center in the Yorktown Community Center; and a full service program at The Community Opportunity Center in Tarrytown, NY. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Northern Westchester serves 3,500 youths, boys and girls ages 6 months to 18 years, from more than 60 Northern Westchester communities. The Club has been ranked among the outstanding Clubs in the national network of Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
